What a strange time this lockdown is. I’ve gone through a range of emotions during the last 4 weeks or so, at times I have felt very anxious, other times I’ve been filled with fear about how I’m going to pay the bills being self employed. I’ve shed a few tears but really not knowing why. I’m now at the point where I am really enjoying the time off.
I’ve been missing the social side of teaching as so many of my students are great friends too. However, I am so grateful for having this forced break, I feel so much more relaxed and I’ve been sleeping like a baby. I’m getting little butterflies in my tummy thinking that we’re potentially getting close to some kind of shift in terms of lockdown. Firing up the lights and all the equipment again is making me feel very excited and welcoming back all our students, all 50 plus of them is a thrilling thought.
One thing’s for sure though, I won’t be working quite as hard as I was before. Having this time to reflect has enabled me to realise that I haven’t got to be working all the hours god sent. I’ll be coasting from here on in. Less teaching, more writing and more recording. Lots of new, exciting recording projects for the studio and more time for my own personal goals.
Looking forward to what’s coming next, hopefully we wont have to wait for too much longer.
